A very quick little blog to warn of the dangers of following links in Twitter from people you don’t know.
Last night I received a DM from a respectable HR Consultancy stating “have you seen this blog post about you, it’s really bad” and a link! Naturally, I was incredibly concerned so ‘stupidly’ clicked the link (It was a short link) First mistake! (I also spent a good 45 mins googling us to try to find this so-called blog).
I was looking at twitter through the iPhone app so didn’t see the URL of the page it was taking me too.
It brought me to the Twitter home page (or a clone of the twitter home page)
Second and biggest mistake was to enter our login details!!!
So, lesson learnt, I hope it hasn’t upset any of our followers and I hope it be a lesson to all our readers too. Leave links on twitter well alone unless you are confident you know who it’s from and where it’s taken you!
